Minopac® (minocycline) is a broad-spectrum semi-synthetic antibiotic indicated for the treatment of acne , non-gonococcal urethritis , endocervicitis , rectal infections , lymphogranuloma venereum , and vaginal granuloma . It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis , stopping the growth of sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. Its clinical use also includes skin and soft tissue infections , respiratory infections , and prophylaxis in immunocompromised patients.

Instructions for use

Oral administration. The dose and duration of treatment must be strictly prescribed by a specialist physician, as they vary depending on the condition being treated.
For reference, the usual dosage for acne treatment is 50 mg or 100 mg, once or twice a day, for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. Take the tablets with plenty of water.
Suitable for

This treatment is indicated for adolescents and adults who have been diagnosed by a health professional withmoderate to severe inflammatory acne, such as papulopustular acne or cystic nodule, and which have not responded to initial topical treatments. It is also suitable for patients with otherbacterial skin infectionsor other specific systemic conditions for which a physician considers minocycline treatment appropriate. It is not a product for general cosmetic use, but rather a pharmacological treatment that requires medical supervision.
Warnings

This is a medicine thatrequires a prescriptionfor dispensing. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to minocycline or other tetracyclines. Contraindicated during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and in children under 8 years of age due to the risk of tooth discoloration and effects on bone development. May increase skin sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity), so it is recommended to avoid prolonged sun exposure and use sunscreen. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease. Consult your doctor before starting treatment.
